Each learning day costs roughly the same effort — words × the difficulty weight of the hilchot — so easy sefarim go faster (several perakim a day) and hard ones slower (part of a perek). Shabbos, Erev Shabbos, Yom Tov, Erev Yom Tov and Tisha B'Av are off; Chol HaMoed, Chanukah, Purim and Rosh Chodesh are learning days.
Open a schedule below and set the Start date and the Effort/day at the top — day numbers, dates, Hebrew dates, the completion date and the .ics export all re-compute instantly, in the browser, with nothing to install. Shabbosim and Yom Tov are skipped for you whatever day you start on.
How it works
- Effort = word count × difficulty weight
(
data/weights.csv— 0.5 for read-throughs up to 1.5 for Shabbat, Ishut, Nizkei Mamon and friends). Edit it to taste. - Short/easy perakim are combined; long/hard ones are split at halacha boundaries. The two oversized halachot (Tefillin 8:4 and Sanhedrin 19:4) have their own agreed break points, so no day is a monster.
- The interactive tables carry the perek/word/weight data and enough Hebrew calendar to re-pace themselves offline — they are one self-contained file each, no dependencies. The embedded calendar covers start dates from 11 Oct 2026 to 12 Feb 2030.
- Install it from your browser's menu (Install app / Add to Home Screen) and it works offline like an app.
- In a schedule page use Export .ics for the pace you are looking at, or press Ctrl/Cmd+P for a landscape printout.
- Everything is regenerated with
python generate_schedule.py— see the README for flags (--budget,--start,--israel,--no-weights, …).
